Amanda and Ruben’s love story began in college, where their personalities perfectly balanced each other. Ruben recalls Amanda as “very studious,” while he was the outgoing one, but from the start, there was a spark. Their connection grew stronger over the years and eventually turned into something truly lasting.

As their 7th anniversary approached, Ruben planned a heartfelt surprise proposal. He rented the gazebo at Mill on the River and sent Amanda off for a day of pampering. That evening, he asked her to meet him at the restaurant, where he had set up candles and arranged letters that spelled out “Marry Me.” It was a proposal filled with love and intention.

For their wedding, Amanda and Ruben chose the romantic and secluded Lord Thompson Manor, a private 40-acre estate that immediately stood out from all the other venues they toured. With its timeless charm and elegant grounds, it felt like the perfect backdrop for the day they had envisioned—chic, intimate, and full of meaning.

They designed their wedding around the venue’s enchanting 17th-century French baroque style, giving it a modern twist through their carefully curated color palette: teal, pale pink, bright pink, lavender, and plum. Lush floral arrangements of garden roses and ranunculus in soft pink and white adorned the day, beautifully tying together the bouquets, decor, stationery, and their custom crest, designed by By Invitation Only Designs, into one cohesive vision.

Amanda and Ruben poured so much heart into making the day special for their guests. From writing their own vows to displaying cherished family wedding photos throughout the venue, every detail was thoughtfully chosen. Guests enjoyed a curated menu, danced to music that kept the celebration lively, and were treated to live watercolor portraits by Coley Sheldon during the evening. The celebration didn’t stop there—they hosted a fun after-party to keep the joy going well into the night.
