There is something special about a spring wedding in Connecticut. Saint Clements Castle in Portland, Connecticut, is a beautiful place to celebrate the beginning of a marriage, with its historic stone architecture, lush gardens, and charming outdoor spaces.

Heather and Dane’s spring wedding was filled with beautiful details, joyful energy, and the kind of moments that make wedding days so memorable.

Saint Clements Castle offers so many wonderful backdrops for wedding portraits. From the stone walls and garden pathways to the architectural details throughout the property, every corner has its own character. Despite the rain, we were able to capture beautiful portraits of the wedding couple.

Heather looked stunning in her lace wedding gown, complete with a long, flowing veil that created the most beautiful movement against the brick walkway. Paired with Dane’s deep blue suit, the two made a timeless pair beneath the pergola, surrounded by greenery and warm, glowing light. They were also able to sneak outside to have a private moment and exchange their personally written wedding vows.

The wedding colors were a beautiful complement to the season. The bridesmaids wore soft sage-green dresses, while their bouquets featured a lovely mix of white daisies, creamy roses, and delicate peach-toned ranunculus. The colors felt fresh and romantic without taking away from the natural beauty of the setting.

And the bridal party? Their personalities made these photographs even more special! Between the laughter, playful poses, and spontaneous moments, their excitement for the newlyweds was impossible to miss. We especially loved the groomsmen shot outside with umbrellas. Those are often the moments that become some of the most memorable photographs from a wedding day.
