Caitlin + Michael | CT Wedding | The Glastonbury Boathouse

Like many couples nowadays, Caitlin and Mike met on a dating app! Caitlin was intrigued that Mike’s profile description said he didn’t eat fast food and Mike recognized the background on Caitlin’s profile picture. So they connected and started dating!

Fast forward a few years to New Year’s Eve and Caitlin and Mike went out to dinner. Afterwards, Caitlin thought it would be fun to stay out for an extra drink, but Mike kept bringing up that they had champagne at home. When they got home, Caitlin had changed her mind and was telling Mike why she didnt want to open a whole bottle. But then she turned around, and he was down on one knee. It was the perfect surprise proposal at their home, and yes, they did open the champagne!

For their wedding, the couple chose the Glastonbury Boathouse because Mike is a professional angler. He spends many days on the CT River and it was important for them to pick a venue on the water. For details, they went with a "winter white" theme since they got married in early December. Their colors throughout the day were filled with ivorys and champagnes and the flowers were simple yet elegant with roses for the bouquets and baby's breath and candles at the reception.

A fun personal detail they included throughout the reception was of their dogs. Caitlin and Mike had miniature toppers for the cake, custom cocktail napkins, and cookie favors that included their dogs. They also included a photo booth for guests and espresso at the end of the night. All the little details came together and made the evening cozy and intimate.

Caitlin and Mike, thank you for having us as a part of your special day and we hope your Patagonia honeymoon cruise was amazing!
