Jennifer + Lewis | Harkness Memorial Park Engagement | CT Engagement Photographer

Jennifer and Lewis met in 2014 at a party held by mutual friends. They were immediately drawn to one another and talked together the entire night. Two days later, they went on their first date: breakfast at a local restaurant and a walk along the river by Jennifer’s house. It was a beautiful, sunny day and the two spent time daringly sitting on a tree together that shot out of the riverbed horizontally, placing them right over the rushing water. Just like at the party, they again felt as if they were able to share an overwhelming solace, while all else around was chaotic. A few days later, they became exclusive. Since meeting, they know that God created the other for them to become one. Jennifer and Lewis have shared their faith by teaching CCD together at St. Matthew’s Church for the past two years.

In 2016, Jennifer and Lewis had just finished teaching a CCD class together. Afterwards, while debriefing about the class, the conversation turned to one regarding their future together. As Lewis walked Jennifer over to her car, he got down on one knee, took out the ring that represented his love and commitment to her, and asked her to marry him. She said, “Yes!” and leaped into his arms. The two celebrated by going out to dinner and then by going over both of their parents’ houses to share the amazing news Later, they left for a weeklong celebratory cruise to the Bahamas!

We shot Jennifer and Lewis’s engagement session at the beautiful Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford. Its panoramic views of Long Island Sound along with its sweeping lawns, stately trees, and spectacular gardens were the perfect backdrop.  They were so naturally playful and affectionate in front of the camera; it’s clear how deep their love runs for one another.

We hope these photos bring a smile to your faces! We can’t wait for your wedding this June!
