Ali + Chris | CT Wedding | Harkness Memorial Park + Eolia Mansion

Ali and Chris met during their freshman year of college; they lived down the hall from one another and had the same group of friends. They bonded over pop-punk music, and the fact that they both grow up in Connecticut. From talking, they realized that their high school teams played each other in sports frequently, and they had been to the same concerts, but had somehow never crossed paths until college at Salve Regina.

When it came time to propose, the one thing Chris wanted was for it to be a surprise. He succeeded in surprising Ali while she was on a girls trip. Chris proposed at a spot that Ali and Chris used to go when they lived in Newport, Battery Park. The ring is from Sarah O Jewelry in Colorado, a jeweler that Ali found on Instagram years before the engagement, and fell in love with. The ring was custom-made, so it took a bit longer to come in, but it was well worth the wait!

Ali and Chris chose Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial Park for their wedding venue. It’s nearby to where they currently live and it’s where Ali went for her senior photos with Sebastian Photography. They hope to celebrate their anniversary there with a yearly picnic!

The wedding colors were blush, black, and white. The flowers were from Something Borrowed Blooms, which is a sustainable wedding florist based in Louisiana. The goal was for everything to be clean and classic with a modern twist. Not only did the flowers really stand out, so did the welcome mirror, the seating chart, and the small candle votives that all of Ali’s coworkers collected over the last year for her! It was a thoughtful personal touch!

Their guests danced the night away to music from when Ali and Chris first met and were treated to a hot pretzel with beer cheese and whole grain mustard at the end of the night!

Congratulations Ali and Chris; we hope your wedding day was everything you hoped for and that you had a blast in Mexico on your honeymoon!
