Samantha + Christopher | CT Wedding | Hawk's Landing Country Club

Chris and Samantha are both accountants who met at their company’s holiday party. They both say they knew that night that they had met the person they would spend the rest of their lives with! Samantha remembers calling her best friend afterward and saying, “I think I just met my future husband.”

Chris proposed in September 2017 at their home. He had originally planned to propose while apple – picking one afternoon, but he was too nervous he would drop and lose the ring, so instead he waited until afterwards when they were back home. He called Samantha downstairs and surprised her with a huge bouquet of flowers, got down on one knee, and popped the question!  It was unexpected, but also perfect!

Chris loves to golf, so the couple chose different golf venues throughout Connecticut for their many wedding events. Samantha’s bridal shower was at Stanley Golf Course; their rehearsal dinner was at Rockledge Golf Club, and their wedding reception was at Hawk’s Landing Country Club. They loved that it had a rustic, but elegant vibe, with a patio off of the ballroom and an adjoining outdoor bar and fire pit.

Samantha wanted the style of their wedding to match their venue: slightly rustic, but elegant and simple. The color palette included ivory, gold, and small pops of dusty rose. Simple and rustic flowers were also chosen for the centerpieces, bridesmaid’s bouquets, and the groomsmen’s boutonnieres.

The centerpieces had 3 different sized vases with baby’s breath submerged in water and gold mercury glass candle votives placed all around the tables. The bridesmaid bouquets were bunches of baby’s breath wrapped with ivory ribbon tails. The groomsmen boutonnieres were bunches of baby’s breath wrapped in twine. The rest of the venue decorations had tall glass votives with ivory candles in matching height with flowers that matched the bride’s bouquet.

Samantha’s bouquet was inspired by her grandmother who was unfortunately placed in hospice before the wedding. Samantha’s bouquet had light pink and white roses and mini carnations (which were her grandmother’s favorite), white ranunculus, baby’s breath, and greenery. The most important part was what held the bouquet together: her grandmother’s headpiece from her wedding gown. Samantha’s grandparents were married for 64 years before her grandmother passed, and it was special to be able to hold a piece of their history during Samantha and Chris’s special day.

Another special and unique element of their wedding day was that Samantha made both the wedding cake and groom’s cake herself! Samantha loves to bake during her spare time and even has her own Instagram business page. Both cakes were outstanding!

Samantha and Chris enjoyed planning their wedding and loved seeing their guests celebrate their happiness. At the end of the night, s’mores packages were given out so everyone could enjoy a sweet treat on the patio during the beautiful summer evening.

We hope you enjoy re-living your wedding again and again with these photos! So happy to be a part of this special time in your lives!
